Twister at Stephen's Green

The playing of Twister at the entrance to Stephen's green was the result of an aborted attempt at a LUAS Party on the first of July 2006. Here is a news article dating from the time of the spectacle:
The scheduled Luas party today didn't occur, owing to only some people not showing up and the Luas being too crowded. However, an event featuring megaphones, twister, lemonade and lollipops occured in front of St. Stephen's Green today!
At 2 p.m. a number of people arrived with the intention of boarding the Luas and having a great party. However, since no more than thirteen people arrived, and several others decided to hike to Limerick instead of coming with us, the idea to board the Luas was eventually abandoned in favour of simply having a party in front of the arch. Twister was cracked out, and a megaphone was used to attract the attention of people in the front area of the park (possibly also attracting the attention of the Garda SÃochána), and generally freak out the squares, who were given flyers for the Luas party. Much confusion ensued, however, party hats, lollipops, marshmallow buns and lemonade were distributed to the general public and there was some success in attracting a random Spaniard to play Twister with us.
The Luas was waaaaaay too crowdeed as I discovered on my way to work after. It would never have worked.
Across the street, there was a cancer society t-shirt-selling fire engine, an America Festival with trumpets and men on stilts dressed as Uncle Sam, a Free Palestine stand and a loud busking drummer, within about 30 square feet of eachother. Looks like we weren't the only ones guilty of flawed planning!
We managed to coax some spanish students from the street into playing Twister.
We met a really cool musketeer who was into Jesus.
A lot of people stared at us. There were guitars later.
Some of the people who were there today. Balloons added to protect identities.
Well, thanks to everyone who came today!!
