Commenting, Metacommenting, The Game and the Ultimate Comment

I’ve included this in the LUAS section of the book because people travelling on the LUAS seem to spend an awful lot of time talking about the LUAS, though not strictly commenting on themselves, since what they are doing, by the theories of the Ultimate Comment is actually talking about the future.

Commenting on oneself as a part of the Secret of the Universe has been practised for several months, first actually discovered during The Bender, with such things as “Look at us, going into out old schools just to smoke here”, and so forth, and has been continually developed since there.

Since becoming aware of the significance of commenting, commenting on oneself in now frequently followed by meta-commenting, such as “Look at us, commenting on ourselves” and meta-meta-commenting, such as “Look at us, commenting on commenting on ourselves”. It has been proposed that there are certain “Ultimate Comments”, such as those which draw attention to the interlinkedness of all previous conversations with one’s commenting partner, and since metacommenting can be an important part of conversation following this discovery, the entire repertoire of conversation can be related back to commenting. In such situations, coming closer to the Ultimate Comment becomes easier with each comment and with each new level of abstraction achieved by metacommenting.

Commenting has close links to spontaneous self awareness phenomenon such as Losing the Game, since you become aware of a continuous chain of game losses over the period since beginning to lose the game, similar to “It happening”, when you become spontaneously aware of your task, thoughts, life or existence (or indeed, previous instances of it happening).

Full awareness of commenting, The Game, spontaneous self awareness, the interrelatedness of these phenomenon and also the extent to which they reflexively affect themselves (since by being continuously aware of what you are doing, you will later also become aware of how you are continuously becoming aware of what you are doing) is the fundamental aim of the Ultimate Comment.

One of the problems of the Ultimate Comment may be similarly expressed by an analogy in theoretical astrophysics, that of using a black hole to travel back in time. Since the centre of a black hole (the “singularity”) is existing in only infinitely small amount of time while time is passing normally for those outside (which from the outside would appear to be a time loop, if information could leave a black hole, which of course, it can’t). Thus an entity entering a black hole would have the choice, upon leaving it, of coming out at any point of the black hole’s life. However, a black hole could only be used to travel back to a point in time when the singularity existed, so if you make a singularity for the purpose of time travel, you can’t travel back to a time before you created it. Similarly, since what we’re commenting on can end up being the fact that we’re commenting so much, we can’t comment on anything outside the ultimate comment itself.

However, this problem can be solved by logically placing all things in the universe within the Ultimate Comment, through the process of interconnection and interrelation. Since the Ultimate Comment is based on the holistic idea of the interconnectedness of all things, everything can be said to be part of the Ultimate Comment, and a comment entirely describing the Ultimate Comment would be the secret of the universe. ?
